After training, we returned to the hotel to clean up for Shabbat. Together as a team, we celebrated our first Shabbat in Israel. We were hosted by a local Rabbi and everyone cleaned up nicely. They asked us not to take photos in respect of the Sabbath.

Wiz scaling the fence and into the stadium for the late Friday practice. We managed to have almost two hours on the field to prepare for Sundays game.

The sign says "Private Property - Do not Enter. Violators will be dealt with accordingly??? Its a good thing the coach doesn't read Hebrew.

Over the fence we go into the same stadium that we practiced with permission earlier in the day.

We had to stop along the way for a moment when Goldie realized that we had forgotten Gazza and J-Man in the lobby of the hotel - Ooops. They arrived at the field by cab a few minutes after we did.

After lunch, we met as a team in one of the small boardrooms downstairs in the hotel. This session was more or less a briefing from coaches and managers with a little bit of team strategy sprinkled in. The guys are quite focused and excited. No one wants to settle for less than a gold medal.

The view of the Haifa harbour down below from the dining room window. 20 miles up the coast to the left is the border between Israel and Lebanon. We are that close!

The dining room where our team lunches are taking place. So far, the food in Israel has been plentiful and delicious. Especially the salads, the dips and the fresh fruits and veggies. So much for losing weight in spite of all of the exercise.

Gathering in the middle of the pitch to start or pretraining warm-up routine. Some guys are still on the bench getting their gear on. Across the field at the other end, the O-35 was training with us. It was great seeing the guys that I played with 2 years ago in Argentina.

Arriving at the field, we got a chance to see the Open age team from Mexico training. What a skilled bunch of young players. The field is in excellent condition smooth as some of the turf fields we trained on in New Jersey last month.

A welcome sign at the field clearly signifying this as one of the sporting venues of these eighteenth Maccabiah games.

Followed the team bus up to Haifa. Just getting off the freeway and heading up the hill and over the top to Nave Shaanan to the stadium for our morning training session.

The DKNY mobile with Scotty as the navigator.

The Fishy Fish bus. How many can you fit into this van. So far, I think we've had 11 or 12.

The INDY mobile with ZZZZ-Man navigating. It a Hyundi I-30. 1.3 liter with very little giddy up. Far cry from the Porsche although I've been driving it like it is in order to keep up with the crazy Israeli drivers. Fortunately, it has a good horn - beep beep!!

The boys on the team bus departing Kfar Maccabiah in Tel Aviv and on our way up to Haifa for the next 13 days. Everyone is so psyched to finally be here. We'll be training in 2 hours.
