Today we had a free day as there were no sports on the schedule. Had good sleep last night and I am trying to shake off this head cold. Tonite I stayed in my room, ordered chicken soup from room service so that I could feel better for tomorrow's big game against Brazil.

We all had a big laugh about the name of this sports bar. In Spanish this means "Crazy for Soccer". Indeed, the Argentinians are crazy for it but they are also great at it at all levels.

This 200 year old gum tree was quite the curiosity.

Chilling out after a walk through the cemetary. It was quite different than anything else I had ever seen.
I told the story of going the see the play Evita with my parents on Broadway when I was a teenager.
Now I could finally put a face to the name.

The name on top of the Mausoleum was not familiar but you had to know who was buried there.

There was a huge gathering of people in one area that focused on one particular gravesite.

If you peered into one of these structures, you would see caskets and other decorative and religious items. It was quite bizarre.

There were some very impressive and elaborate structures as well as some run down ones.

Some had very elaborate sculputes and designs on the outside.

A city of Mausoleums appeared in front of us as we walked through the entrance.

We were at the Recoleta Cemetary, a national cemetary. Only military, politicians, the wealthy and probably deceased futbol players were allowed here.

I believe that the words on the top mean "Rest in Peace" but I am too tired to Google.

The church on the inside was quite impressive and there was a Sunday mass in progress.

A closer look at this pretty, white church.

At the edge of the park, we could see a church off in the distance.

Shaun straggling along.

I found these billboards quite different and artistic.

The soccer boys out sightseeing in the Recoleta district.

Pictures of the city from the window of the cab. There's a lot of old mixed in with the new and it is quite crowded.
